Individual Requirements
-
Ear and Impact Resitant
and Wrap Around Eye Protection is Mandatory. (No glass or eye wear without side protection will be allowed.)
NOTE: Distraction devices will be used on the last day. Goggles would be recommended if you wear prescription eye wear.

Comfortable clothing suitable for the range under all weather conditions. (Expect rain, being British it rains for me regardless of location and season!)

Body armour must be worn for all the live-fire, room entry segments.

Full tactical equipment and body armour is required fro all practical exercises.
Firearms: Full-Automatic or Semi-Automatic.
(You can attend with one or both of the firearms listed below. I always run a double line where only half the attendees are shooting at on time, so two officers can attend with only one firearm between them.)

MP5/UMP. (9mm, 10mm, .40cal or .45 ACP)

H&K 53, 33 or G36. Or any other 5.56mm/.223 cal.

Colt SMG, M4 or M16 A1/A2 Rifle.

Sling
-
2 x 30 round or 3 x 20 round magazines per attendees.

Hand gun and holster per attendee.
Ammunition:

2000 rounds of good factory manufactured ammunition. (I do not recommend cheap re-loads, military surplus or aluminum case ammo)

50 rounds of pistol ammunition.

Day 1.
Morning.
Ranges. Revision of Basic Handling to Include:
Load/Unload and Reload.
Stance & Ready Position.
Controlling a 30 Round Burst.
Introduction to Full-Automatic & 3 Round Burst.
Trigger Control on Full-Automatic.
Drugs & Body Armour Drills.
Afternoon.
Ranges. Range Revision:
Shoulder Fire, Firing-on-the-Move, Single Target.
Tactical Reload Drills in Pairs.
Support Covering Fire.
Tactical Back-Up-Weapon Drills in Pairs.
Day 2
Morning.
Classroom/Exercise Buildings. Dynamic Clearing Lecture To Include:
Tactical Principals.
Threat Intimidation.
Immediate Threat Concept.
Room Clearance Technique.
2, 4 & Team Room Clearance.
Late Morning/Afternoon. Exercise Buildings.
Dry-Fire Exercises:
Paired Immediate Threat Room Entry.
4 Man Immediate Threat Room Entry.
Multiple Room Entries.
Team Building Assault.
Day 3
Morning.
Ranges/Shoot House:
Shoulder Fire, Firing-on-the-Move, Trigger Control.
Fire-on-the-Move, Back-Up-Weapon.
Fire-on-the-Move, Angled/Lateral Movement.
2 & 4 Man Room Entry. Single and Double Room.
Small Team Building Assault.
Large Team Building Assault.
Afternoon.
Shoot House. Live Fire Room Entry:
6, 8 & 10 Man Team, Room Entries.
Dynamic Clearing Room Entries.
Team Room Assault.
Tactical Use of Distraction Devices.
Hostage Rescue Techniques.
Hostage/Suspect Evacuation & Reception Techniques.
Evening:
"Optional" Low Light/Use of Illumination (2 Hours From Last Light):
Shoulder Fire, Firing-on-the-Move, Single Target.
Transition to Back-Up-Weapon while Firing-on-the-Move.
Paired & Team Live-Fire Room Entry.
Day 4
Morning.
Classroom then Ecercise Buildings:
Hostage Rescue Techniques. To Include:
Assault Priorities, Control of suspects & Hostages.
Hostage Evacuation & Reception Techniques for:
Small Building/Multiple Rooms.
Hotel/School Corridor & Multiple Rooms & Large Open Vehicles.
Afternoon.
Classroom then Exercise Buildings:
"Counter-Terrorist Concepts" for Law Enforcement.
Immediate "v" Deliberate Actions. Meaning:
- Immediate. The "Suspects" Actions Decide When to Assault.
- Deliberate. The "Team" Decides When to Assault.
- Team Organisation & Training for a No Time to Plan, Arrive on Scene and GO, GO, GO Option! (Fast Ball Option)
Practical Hostage Rescue from Vehicles.
Day 5
Morning.
Hostage Rescue Exercises:
The group will be divided into 2 teams. One team will be given 30/60 minutes to organise, plan and carry-out a Hostage Rescue assault while the other half acts in the capacity of the hostages and suspects. After the de-brief the 2 teams will change roles for a different scenario.
